ESCAPE TO TUSCANY!

ESCORTED GROUP TOUR OF ROME & TUSCANY

DAY 1: August 10 – Rome: Welcome to Italia!

Arrival at the Rome airport from your hometown. Everyone will travel individually. Our tour package does not include air transportation. Meet your Organizer, Walter, at Hotel Quirinale in central Rome. Check into Hotel Quirinale  Then head into the city for dinner at a Typical restaurant or pizzeria, and take an evening stroll with your group in the magical streets of Rome. Overnight at the hotel. Lunch and dinner at leisure.

DAY 2: August 11 – Rome to Tuscany

Meet up with your group at Hotel Quirinale for pick up by private passenger van with A/C, and travel to the spectacular region of Tuscany. We will stop in the city of Siena for lunch, followed by a guided tour of the city with English- speaking guide. In the late afternoon , we will be picked up again by the passenger van to travel to the country residence (agriturismo) where we will spend the next 4 nights. Residence name: La Borriana, Carmignano (PO) www.agriturismolaborriana.it . Dinner and overnight at the country residence. Meals: B, D

DAY 3: August 12 – Tuscan Feast!

Breakfast at the residence, followed by a cooking lesson by a local chef. We will learn how to prepare an Italian meal, and then eat it for lunch! In the late afternoon, our private passenger van will take us to the Mediaeval city of San Gimignano, a UNESCO World Heritage Site for a walking tour, followed by a visit to a nearby winery with wine tasting, escorted by an English-speaking guide (museum and monument admission not included). Then we will travel back to the residence for dinner. Evening at leasure. Dinner and overnight at the country residence. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 4: August 13 – To Florence with love

After breakfast, our private passenger van will take us to spectacular Florence, where we will spend a whole day visiting its world-renown monuments and museums escorted by an English-speaking guide (museum and monument admission not included). In the afternoon, we will take a guided tour of the shops on the city center with an English-speaking guide. Dinner at a local restaurant, with members of The Firenze Italian Connection, a local Meetup group (www.meetup.com/italian-firenze). Overnight at the country residence. Meals: B only.

DAY 5: August 14 – Pisa and Lucca escorted tour                

We will eat breakfast at the residence, and then travel to the ancient city of Lucca for a two-hour guided tour. In the afternoon, we will visit Pisa’s iconic cathedral and Leaning Tower, with free time for sightseeing and to take pictures (museum and monument admission not included). Dinner and overnight at the country residence. Meals: B, D.

DAY 6: August 15 – Return to Rome via Talamone

Breakfast at the residence and departure in the morning towards Rome. We will stop in the charming seaside city of Talamone for lunch and to spend a few hours at the beach or in the gorgeous Maremma National Park. In the evening our private passenger van will drive us to Rome, where we will have free time to relax at the hotel, or head into the city for dinner and some leisure time. Overnight at the hotel. Meals: B only.

DAY 7: August 16 – Rome, sweet Rome

After breakfast, an English-speaking guide will pick us up at the hotel to take us on a 7-hour walking tour of the Eternal City, with lunch at leisure. Bring your camera to create some lasting memories of this fabulous tour (museum and monument admission not included). Rest of the day to relax or shop at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Meals: B, D.

DAY 8: August 17 – Time to say “good bye”

After breakfast, we will check out of the hotel to travel back home, or continue our stay in Italy at leisure. Meals: B only.
